Default Volume deployment

We are very happy with Articulate. We have a large number of users wanting your software. Are there any options for a network or Citrix deployment?

Default RE: Volume deployment

Hi Ernie-

I'm glad to hear it! Yes, there certainly are volume deployment options for Articulate products. We offer volume discounts on 5+ licenses, as well as an Enterprise license offering. I'd suggest contacting your account rep for more details, or filling out the contact form below, which will get routed to your rep:

Ernie,
Did you end up doing a Citrix deployment? I'm currently experiencing problems with playback of audio and video over a Citrix network. According to some users in the Flash forums, Citrix has a problem delivering Flash audio. I'm looking for anyone who has encountered (and solved!) this issue.

We may have some users accessing presentations over Citrix. What type of symptoms is it exhibiting? Does it not play at all, present an error, skip,... ?

We are currently delivering e-learning to 57 locations across the US over a citrix network and have encountered and solved many problems with playback/audio.

It's not 1 solution, but several and important to note that not all features will work. – pick your battles!

First Problem: Video/Audio in Flash won't Play on citrix.
Solution: Citrix runs on a thin-client (small computer) that does have an operating system and with that its own internet explorer. We were able to created an icon in our citrix web interface that actually throw the user “overboard” and launches the local i.e. on the thin-client to access AKP. – This now behaves like a little pc and fixes the playback issues.

New Problem: Now that the user is officially overboard, they have no local print drivers
Solution: We only load flash training programs to AKP all printable items are loaded to our intranet… inside citrix we call the icon that leads to AKP “The Campus” and the one that leads to the documents “The Bookstore” – users figured it out pretty quick. We also don’t use any certificates or email features.

Another Solution: Set up one thin client in each store with print drivers and everything needed… call it a training kiosk

Other Problems:
We also had to lock down that local i.e. so they can only access certain internal web sites.
Inserting a web object allows us to stream windows medial videos to a slide… but although it works good on a pc it’s choppy on a thin client so we insert a link “click here to watch a video” it pops up in the windows media player and works good….. still trying to solve this one open to any ideas.
We are also currently upgrading the memory in the thin clients to solve virtual memory issues – They just open to many things at once.

I hope this gets your started in the right "Cirtix Direction"
