Hmmm, not sure if this will work as a workaround, but, if you created your PNG, in the graphics tool,

It is a little surprising, though, that the PNG transparency is not maintained once published. I wonder if it might have something to do with whether it is a 24-Bit PNG vs. a 32-Bit PNG?
I think I have seen something about this posted here before...

I just ran a quick test importing a 32-bit PNG that was exported from Fireworks...the transparency and soft edges worked fine for me.
I don't know if the issue might be how the PNG file was saved. Perhaps if you send us the image at issue, we can deternmine the cause. HTH, Phil |

Hmmm, Phil and Brian, you may have something. I tried this before posting and my PNG did not work either. However, I was using Xara Xtreme and not Fireworks (not a big Fireworks fan).
Xara defaults to 24-bit for PNGs. Going to 32 bit adds the alpha channel information, which might be needed to make this work with AP. Did it a quick test and it worked great with 32-bit also. GREAT work, Guys! - Gerry |
