Was just thinking the other day on use of the AP navigation panel (note to self--you gotta get a life
). Was curious why there are no other choices on how to indicate progress through a course to a learner. Right now, all we got is the text turning to a different color or shading. Got me wondering if having the option of also having a checkmark or "X" might be nice to have? Say, once a student visits a slide, a green checkmark appears in the navigation panel to the left of navigation slide title. Just wondering out loud if anyone would find that effective or not. Also, and maybe this is better for the Engage thread on the lack of community interactions, but it be nice to be able to add a "Course Progress" interaction to the AP menu bar, especially when you are doing no sidebar view in AP. The learner could click on this "Course Progress" interaction and see what slides they've completed in AP, and, if needed, click on one and go right to it. Could also work inserted on a slide from time to time. Just a reminder to the learner of their course progress.

HI Gerry,
Doesn't the *other* Presenter have a check-mark in navigation after slide hasn't been viewed? Joe |

Hi, Joe!
Not sure. Have not looked at the other "Presenter" for some time.

Hi Gerry, one easy way is to place an ever increasing progression bar inthe same location on ever slide as a jpg. So slide 1 shows the bar at 5% , slide 2 shows the bar in the same location at 10% ect. Rather basic but anyone can do it
cheers Gazzzz |

Hi! Thanks for the idea. It's a great one.
I'm thinking more about the non-techie, non-learning desinger professional (who most of our users are) who needs something really easy to create and generate. Also, when a course is completed by number of slides viewed, it's really handy to see at a glance which slides have not been viewed, especially if the course encourages non-linear progression through it. And even us pros need something that saves time for us. And, besides, I'm just lazy sometimes . . . ![]()

Hi,
Agree it's a good idea, but it really only works if you have a pretty linear course. If you unlock navigation, it might fall apart on you if you aren't careful (speaking from dreadful personal experience, when I spent, well, too much time designing progress bars on the slides and then realized i couldn't use them because I wanted students to be able to jump around Or is there a way to unlock navigation and still use progress bars. I have to confess, I would like seeing the check mark in the navigation, but I bet it is a lot of work, so thanks "this.... Joe |
